Mango Pop-Up

Scenic Fabrication · Faux Finishing · Production

The Brief

For a Mango retail pop-up, Dollhouse Agency was tasked with producing custom scenic elements to bring the established creative concept into the physical environment.

Working under Mary Brockman as part of the Dollhouse Agency production team, the project called for faux brick elements that could convincingly recreate the texture and character of masonry while remaining lightweight and practical for a temporary installation.

The Approach

The fabrication process focused on transforming foam into dimensional brick surfaces through sanding, texturing, and painting techniques. Careful attention to surface variation, color, and detail helped create the appearance of aged masonry while meeting the practical requirements of a temporary retail environment.

Role & Execution

Scenic fabrication, faux brick construction, texturing, hand finishing, painting, and production.

Project Note

This project was an exercise in material transformation, using scenic fabrication and finishing techniques to make foam convincingly read as something much heavier and more permanent. The process of building texture, variation, and imperfection into each surface was particularly satisfying.
